Invesco Global Sovereign Asset Management Study 2019

Our seventh global sovereign asset management study represents the views and opinions of 139 chief investment officers, heads of asset classes and senior portfolio strategists, working within 68 sovereign funds and 71 central banks (with assets totalling in excess of US$20 trillion under management).

The five key themes in this year’s report seek to build on the findings from previous years’ studies by analysing long-term trends as well as covering new insights.

2019 key themes:

  1. Ageing cycle sees sovereigns defend, diversify and explore new opportunities
  2. Investing at scale
  3. Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) integration continues at pace with environmental factors to the fore
  4. Technology investors, late technology adopters
  5. Central banks seek liquidity and safety, shifting away from the US Dollar and towards gold and China

We've created a microsite where you can download the report, view insights and video content and access previous years' studies.

Investment risks

The value of investments and any income will fluctuate (this may partly be the result of exchange rate fluctuations) and investors may not get back the full amount invested.
